About Us...

Neighbors Helping Neighbors is a program to help those in and around the Portland community, whether they are the unfortunate victims of a house fire, or have just fallen on hard times.  Our office is headquartered in the 109 Mini Mall (across from the 109 Restaurant), and we also have a storage building for donations in the Bethpage area.  We are operated by the Oak Grove Volunteer Fire Department's Ladies Auxiliary.

We accept items for donation, clothing, household items, etc, with the exception of mattresses.  We also accept non perishable food donations, toiletry items, and gift cards.  Check out our Needs page for a list of much needed items.

You may also "purchase" any items, by donation.  "Give what you can" is our motto.  Any proceeds go to help others in the community.

We have also started a fundraising chapter, to hold different kinds of fundraisers for people in the community.  We have hosted yard sales and bake sales to help with electric bills, rent, medical expenses, etc.  Fundraiser request forms are available at the office, or on the forms page of the website.  The general help forms are also available at the office or on the page as well.  Just one simple form to fill out, no need for proof or anything!
